Job Description

The HealthBid Bid Manager role is a natural next step for someone currently working in bid management and looking for their next challenge. As Bid Manager, you will be expected to take a leading role in the production of bids for various clients, often managing several projects simultaneously.

As part of the HealthBid bidding team, you will have significant freedom to determine how to spend your time, within the framework of the projects set out by the COO/DCOO whilst providing core leadership and driving culture across the team.

Detailed Description

The Bid Manager is responsible for a series of bid projects, as set out by the COO/DCOO, as well as managing the culture of the company. This includes managing and leading multiple projects with varying Manager/Writer combinations as deemed appropriate. 

These activities may involve travel across the UK where safe and appropriate, which will be reimbursed in line with Bidding Limited’s expenses policy, and an expectation to come into the office when required.

Leading a Bid

When assessing the operational priorities for the business, the COO/DCOO will assign bids to the Bid Manager. They will then be expected to:

  • Manage up to 3 bids/teams at once
  • Liaise with the client where appropriate to arrange timescales for meetings
  • Lead meetings and complex communications with the client
  • Provide advice and guidance to the Ops team
  • Write answers to questions and/or manage the Bid Team in writing these answers
  • Lead the review process:
  • Internal QA
  • External RED teams
  • Ensure compliance with and adherence to HealthBid methodology
  • Any other related processes

All of the above will be managed under the supervision of the COO and DCOO and using all the resources of the business as appropriate.

Additional Responsibilities

The BM also has an important role in supporting the company strategy and culture, as well as being involved with wider Ops work for personal development purposes:

  • Supporting with Recruitment activities, including but not limited to shortlisting applicants, attending interviews, assessing written exercise submissions, and supporting induction.
  • Attending the following meetings: Sales, Senior Management Team, and attending capacity meetings when the COO is absent
  • Professional development of the Ops team, including training
